देखा था कल रात भी मैंने शायद कुछ ढूँढ रहे थे तुम ,
मेरी बातों में मेरी आँखों में,
हाँ मुझे पता है कि तुम ढूँढ रहे थे अपनी ही गलतियाँ,
तुम तलाश रहे थे खुद को कि तुम कहाँ हो,
हाँ तुम नहीं थे मेरी बातों में,
शिकायतें भी नहीं थी,
मैंने नहीं कहा तुम्हें,
क्योंकि तुम आकलन कर सको यही मैं चाहती हूँ,
मैं परिपक्व बनाना चाहती हूँ तुम्हें इतना कि तुम समझ सको कि हाँ तुम सही नहीं हो,
जो तुम हमेशा बन जाते हो ।

बारिश के नाम से ही खिलखिला पङती थी,
क्या तुम्हें भींगना पसंद है?
हमेशा पूछती,चलो ना भींगते हैं,
कितना प्यारा था उसका
बारिश में भींगना
और उसका बारिश को महसूस कर सकना,
हाँ उसका महसूस करना थोङा अलग सा था ,
कुछ ऐसा जैसे वो बारिश की हर बूंद को जानती थी,
बारिश उसकी अपनी जागीर थी,जैसे
बरस बीते मैं उसकी बारिश में भीगने की यादों में भीगता रहता था ।
तन तो नहीं पर मन भींग जाता था मेरा,
हाल ही में बताया मैंने उसे की मैं भींगता रहता हूँ तुम्हारी यादों में,
उन बारिश की यादों में मन भिगोता रहता हूँ
स्तब्ध रह गया जब उसने कहा
जब से तुम गए हो यहाँ बारिश हुई हीं नहीं
तुम्हारा प्रेम ।

मेरे एकांत में भी तुम्हारा प्रेम,
मेरे कलेजे का द्वार खटखटा हीं देता है,
कई बार इजाजत ना भी दूँ तो,
वो मेरे सिरहाने आकर बैठ जाता है,
कभी मुझे अपलक निहारता है,
तो कभी केशों में उँगलियाँ फिरा जाता है,
क्यों पढ लिया था तुमने मुझे किसी किताब की तरह?
क्या कंठस्थ करने के लिए और कुछ नहीं था तुम्हारे पास?
मेरे हर वाक्य हर शब्द की तह तक जाना,
हर शब्द के पहले के शब्द को जान लेना,
मेरी ख़ामोशी को पढ लेना वो भी खामोशी से,
जतन करती हूँ बहुत अगर इजाजत ना भी दूँ तो तुम्हारा प्रेम मेरे कलेजे का द्वार खटखटा हीं देता है ।
